Sambazon Original Acai Smoothie Packs

Sambazon is one of the largest corporations bringing Acai to the world. They have a huge line of products, but frozen pulp for smoothies is what they are most famous for. If you want to make a frozen Acai smoothie or the famous 'Rio bowl' Acai breakfast, and you live in the USA, then I don't know of any other options for you right now than the two varieties of 'smoothie packs' that Sambazon produces.

This Original, "Rio Style" type of Acai smoothie pack is almost completely Acai berry, but with added cane juice for sweetening and Guarana for extra energy. (As if it needed any more...) It tastes GREAT on its' own, and you can eat them like popsicles right out of the pack. The flavor is somewhere inbetween chocolate and clove, just sweet enough to be enjoyed on its' own. They also have some handy recipes for smoothies right on the label that anyone can make.

How available are Sambazon Smoothie Packs?

You should be able to find Sambazon Smoothie packs (in both flavors) in your local health foods store and even leading grocery stores like Vons, Safeway, and Albertsons, in the frozen fruits section.

How much does a Sambazon Original Acai Smoothie pack cost?

A pack of four smoothie packs cost me about $7.

What is the ORAC Value of Sambazon's Energy Acai Smoothie Pack?

Unfortunately they do not publish the product ORAC value, but on their website they show a graph of Acai versus other fruits ORAC chart and they credit Acai 'fruit' of an unknown measurement as having "167 Antioxidents." -Which is a horribly low number and I'm not convinced that it relates to the ORAC scale at all.

Don't doubt for a second that it will give you plenty of energy, however. It's some very, very powerful stuff!
