Genesis Today Acai100

Genesis Today Acai100 is not so much of an Acai juice as it is a 'tonic.' It is basically composed of some raw, crushed Acai berries, still wet even, with nothing at all added. (No sweeteners either!)

It includes the skin & ground seed, and closely resembles some oily mud when poured into a glass. On it's own, you really wouldn't enjoy the taste, despite the fact that on the label it actually suggests drinking 1 Ounce of it straight, twice daily, or as prescribed by your doctor.

How much does Genesis Today Acai100 Cost?

This 4 Fluid Ounce bottle was sold for about $6 at my local health food store. They had a much larger 32 Ounce size as well.

What is the ORAC value of Genesis Today Acai100?

Again, it is not published anywhere on their product nor website, but we suspect it is pretty low compared to most Acai products on the market. First of all, they admit that their processing technique is low tech, as quoted from their website: "Processed through a unique maceration process that has been used for thousands of years by the indigenous people of the Brazilian rainforest and other bordering South American countries." 

Secondly, freeze-dried powder is well known to be the best way to preserve a high ORAC value in Acai... So this process may preserve many nutrients, but it is not likely to preserve much if any of the anthocyanin antioxidants in acai.
